For centuries, the wonderful strains of the bagpipes have brought a special sense of occasion to the most important moments of people's lives. As a bagpiper, I have found that my Highland bagpipe playing is sincerely appreciated by bridal couples, their families and guests. As I play, dressed in traditional Highland tartan and kilt, I cannot help but be aware of the significance and grandeur contributed to the occasion.
Many of those who have attended these occasions have shared with me how much they appreciate my contribution. The traditional melodies and special requests are well received at the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception or other special occasion. My choice of music, how my playing is integrated into the services and the extent of my role is individually tailored to each occasion. My focus is on tradition, diginity and joy.
